Commerce, California. The city of Commerce was incorporated on January 28, 1960, as a General Law city. The town is located in the southeast section of Los Angeles County, approximately six miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
The City of Commerce is home to three library branches and a central library which serve its residents and business communities. The City of Commerce is served by the Montebello Unified School District. The district is a public school district providing kindergarten through twelfth grade, preschool, and adult instructional services.
The City offers a number of major special events for the residents of Commerce. Traditional events like the 4th of July Celebration, Cinco de Mayo Celebrations, Garden Shows, Parades, 5-K Runs, Craft Fairs, Community Christmas Tree Lighting are just a few.
