Northridge, California. Much of the earliest community history for Northridge CA revolves around a watering hole that was located in the area of the intersection of current day Roscoe and Parthenia Boulevards. It was used as a gathering spot for the Gabrielino Indians and later the Spanish who explored Missions in the area.
Northridge was the only San Fernando Valley station on the Southern Pacific Railroad line in the late 1800’s. Once water was brought to the Valley, Northridge real estate was used primarily for agricultural purposes. In the 40's and 50's, Northridge started using the slogan "The Horse Capital of the World." The reason is because many horses were raced and shown at Devonshire Downs.
California State University Northridge became a major University and is currently one of the valley's largest employers. As time moved on the area became the home of many major industrial firms. The area of Northridge is a beautiful comfortable community offering many home and employment opportunities for even the hardest to please.
